Frequently Asked Questions

1. Must I attend all the days of the Taaruf Program?
Yes. In order to maximize the success of the program all candidates are expected to be present in all the functions. This means you must be here in Dallas by the late afternoon of Thursday May 22nd and you should make your departure on the afternoon of Monday May 26th.

2. What do I do if I do not have an e-jamaat ID? Can I register?
If you do not have an e-jamaat ID or your card is in process we ask that you please get a confirmation from your Aamil Saheb that you are indeed a member of your jamaat. This is an administrative step we are taking. This confirmation can be sent by your Aamil Saheb directly as an email to tncdallas@oxtech.net or can be faxed to 972-230-6851. After we receive this letter we will send you a registration number to be put in place of your e-jamaat ID. We will then review your registration.

3. Which airport should I arrive at?
It is probably most convenient to arrive at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) because it is situated near the masjid. However, Love Field Airport is not too far and you can arrive there if it is easier for you.

4. Will I be picked up and dropped off to the airport?
Yes. We will arrange your pick up and drop off to and from the airport. Please let us know of your itinerary timings as soon as possible in your profile on the Texas Taaruf website at www.dallasjamaat.org.

5. Can I arrange my own accommodation?
We do not suggest that you arrange your own accommodations. We will do our best to make you as comfortable as possible in the accommodations we provide. If you have any special requests please email us.

6. Do I need to rent a car?
Transport will be provided from your accommodations and to all the venues throughout the program. You really don't have to rent your own car at all.

7. I haven't received any emails back from the Texas Taaruf Program, why?
If you haven't received any emails from the Dallas TNC please check your spam box. Please add tncdallas@oxtech.net to your address book to make sure you receive all emails from us.

8. Can I pay when I come to Dallas or must I do so before?
Please try and pay your attendance fees before April 20th 2008. You can do this once you log in to your profile at www.dallasjamaat.org. We will not charge your card unless your application is approved. Once you have paid we will send you an invitation for attendance. We cannot confirm your attendance unless we have your arrival information or payment.

9. What will the weather be like and what type of clothing should I bring?
Please bring appropriate Libas ul Anwar for all the events. Men should have their topis and kurtas and girls should have nice ridas for all the events. Please dress casually for the Sunday event in Libas ul Anwar since we will be having a lot of fun at the venue. May is usually nice and warm. We will send registered participants a weather update one week before the Taaruf.

10. If I am above or under the age requirements may I still attend?
For people above the age group, we would like to guide you to the Taaruf Program taking place a week after the Texas Taaruf in London. This Taaruf is designed for people ages 32 and up for men, and ages 30 and up for women. You can find out more information about this at www.londontaaruf.com. If you are younger than the age limit we cannot accept your registration but would like to welcome you to join future Taaruf programs when you reach the age requirements.
